Top 5 Hybrid cars of 2012

Hybrid cars are gaining popularity due to the fact that they are one of the most efficient cars that hit the road.  There are some of them that can reach about 50 mpg while speeding up on the road. 2012 is a year that gives rise to hybrid vehicles. Toyota has taken their Prius model and revamped it. As a result, it gave birth to Pruis C that is powered by a 1.5 liter four cylinder engine. It also has a nickel metal hydride battery. Another popular hybrid car of all is Toyota Prius. Despite the fact that the company has developed it, this car model is still one of the best. Prius is powered by 1.8 liter gas engine, which is still much more expensive compared to Prius C.

Honda Civic is a car that is well recognized by the car enthusiasts. It has a hybrid version that is powered by a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine that is paired with CVT. Compared to other Toyota products; this civic hybrid is utilizing ion battery technology. It is said to be lighter and more advanced compared to other battery system. It is rated 44mpg. Another hybrid coming from Toyota is Prius V. The v stands for versatile and it is meant to highlight the capabilities of the car model.

The Prius V model can accommodate five people and it has more storage capacity. It is also fuel efficient but this is more expensive compared to other Prius models. Another car derived from Prius is Lexus CT 200h. The premium model is equipped with leather seats, navigation system, Bluetooth, satellite services and others. It also has the same engine and a transmission system as with the standard Prius. In the next years, hybrid cars will be more developed for better fuel economy and it is equipped with other features. There are some hybrid cars that are powered with electricity.
