The 8th generation of the Volkswagen Passat is revealed

Highlight of the cabin is the TFT screen of 12.3 inches, part of the infotainment system that VW calls Active Info Display. However, the basic versions are equipped with a 6.5 inch screen in the center console. Impressive is the technology of the head up display, an entertainment system for rear passengers, and safety systems Front Assist plus City Emergency Braking with monitoring pedestrians, Emergency Assist, Trailer Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.

The new Passat includes 10 engines with direct injection from the gasoline and diesel palette, all specifications of the Euro6. The new hybrid version is the 1.4 TSI Plug-in Hybrid, the combined power of which amounts to 211 horsepower while offering pure electric mode of 50 km. It offers 0-100 km/hr in 6.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 240 km/hr, while at the same time it has an average consumption of 5.3 lt./100 km.

The preorders of the new VW Passat in Germany began before the official debut in October at the Paris Motor Show. By the end of the year, the new medium sized model of the Germans will be located in all European markets.
