New Seat Leon X-Perience | An off-road experience

In anticipation of its first SUV, which will be developed with Skoda, the Spanish brand presents the all-new Seat Leon X-Perience. An off-road variant of the esteemed ST wagon equipped with permanent four wheel drive with the electronically controlled Haldex’s fifth generation of raised suspension (+15 mm) and numerous driver assistance systems, such as control of differential EDS, the Electronic Traction in tight corners XDS and stability control ESC.

Scheduled for commercial launch in the early months of 2015, the new Seat Leon X-Perience is distinguished externally by a number of elements that the approach to the world of SUVs, such as strips on the fenders and sill protective plastic, the ‘slides’ the bottom of the front shield and the rear and alloy wheels of large diameter. The cosmetic surgery does not alter, however, the elegance and dynamism of ST Leon, with a result that will certainly be appreciated by those who need a car capable of dealing with any road surfaces and also difficult weather situations safely.

Taking a close look at the Leon X-Perience, it is  clear that it also corresponds to high level equipment, standard or options depending on the trim levels. A great example is the case of the automatic speed control with ACC and Front Assist emergency braking function, the full LED headlamps, the detection system of driver fatigue and assistant for the maintenance of the lane.

At the top of the range, the Seat Leon gives its X-Perience the turbodiesel 2.0 TDI 184 hp with 380 Nm of torque, which is mated to dual-clutch transmission DSG. With this engine, the new Seat off road accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.1 seconds and reaches 224 km / h, all with a consumption of only 4.9 liters of diesel per 100 km and emissions of CO2 contained in 129 g / km. There is also the version with a 2.0 TDI 150 hp and a 1.6 TDI 110 hp.

The only petrol engine in the program, the 1.8 TSI with 180 hp, is also used in combination with the six-speed DSG transmission. As in Leon X-Perience 2.0 TDI 184 hp, even at this petrol version is fitted as standard Seat Drive Profile system that allows the driver to vary the response of the steering, throttle and shift of four operating modes – eco , comfort, individual and sports – with the possibility to also choose the favorite tone for the noise of the engine.
