Mini John Cooper Works GP limited edition

The new car, limited edition, will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Paris Motor Show and will start production by 2012.  Powered by the 1.6 four-cylinder engine, it reaches a great performance. After the first information early in May now we have the official data for the Mini John Cooper Works GP. Under the hood is a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine that produces 218 horsepower. This car is the fastest  model ever built by the British brand and will be limited to 2,000 units. The world premiere will be held at the upcoming Paris Motor Show (September 29 to October 14)and will go into production by the end of 2012.

The engine can be up to 280 Nm of torque and reaches its maximum power at 6,000 rpm. Mated to six-speed manual, will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 242 km/h. In addition, the technology Minimalism helps to limit the combined use of 7.1 liters per 100 kilometers measured in the EU test cycle while the value of CO2 emissions is 165 grams per kilometer.

The suspension technology, the characteristics of aerodynamic and engine were subjected to an intensive test cycle on Nürburgring (the old circuit of the Grand Prix), to verify the performance and safety of the car. During the tests, the MINI John Cooper Works GP has also set a new speed record covering the circuit in 8’23 and beating the fastest time of its predecessor.
