World Rally Championship 2013 | Loeb is still king of Monte Carlo

The king is always him. Sebastien Loeb wins for the seventh time in the Monte Carlo Rally giving yet another show of strength. The French under the command right from the start dominated the test. They could not afford to pull up first during the last day but were able to close with a lead of no less than 1’39” by Sebastien Ogier, the first test Volkswagen and in the third place the other Citroen DS3, Dani Sordo. As I said there was absolute history and the Alsatian has shown once again that an alien can not be beat. Luckily for the other drivers, Loeb will not be in contention for the championship this year, having regard to his decision to participate in only a few races. The driver of the Citroen was definitely the favorite to win the tenth title of a career, still unreachable.

“I’m always happy after a win, especially in Monte Carlo, one of the most exciting rallies – said the winner, immediately after crossing the finish line – This was really hard, the conditions were extreme, and the victory was not easy at all.” The next meeting is scheduled for next month, February 7 to 10, in Sweden. Loeb will be there and will once again be the man to beat.
