Volkswagen New Beetle Cabriolet | Available in Europe on March
After the premieres at Los Angeles Auto Show and the Bologna Motor Show 2012, the New Beetle Cabriolet produced at VW Puebla (Mexico), will be marketed in Europe by the end of March with prices starting from € 23,800. At launch, the new Beetle Cabriolet will consist of five versions: three petrol and two diesel engines. The model range includes the petrol 1.2 TSI 105 hp and 175 Nm of torque equipped with 6-speed manual gearbox, the 1.4 TSI 160 hp and 240 Nm with manual gearbox or 6 speed dual clutch 7 speed DSG and the more sporty 2.0 TSI with 200 hp and 280 Nm with manual or DSG, both 6 speed. The diesel versions are two 1.6 TDI 105 hp – 250 Nm, available with BlueMotion 5 speed manual transmission or 7 speed DSG 2.0 TDI and 140 hp 320 Nm, 6 speed manual gearbox or 6 speed DSG.

The most distinctive feature of the new Beetle Cabriolet is the convertible top; strictly canvas – available in two colors: light gray and black depending on the color chosen for the body. It takes about 10 seconds to open (through a handle placed near the rearview mirror), operation allowed up to 50 km/h and the same to close.

To decrease the eddies of air in there is a classic folding windbreak panel, to be placed behind the front seats and when not in use, is placed in the luggage compartment. The capacity of the luggage compartment for all versions is 225 liters. Compared to the previous New Beetle, the ability to load objects owes a long thanks to the split rear bench seat.

The new Beetle Cabriolet, after the U.S. debut these days, will arrive in Europe in late March. The prices indicated by Volkswagen range from € 23,800 for the 1.2 TSI 105 hp under construction Design up to € 32,600 for the 140 hp 2.0 TDI DSG “Sport”.
