Volkswagen E-Up | On the market this autumn
The Volkswagen E-Up!, which is the production version of the eponymous electric prototype presented in September 2009, was brought forward in these days by the Annual Press and Investors Conference, while its official debut will take place next September at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013 and then moved on international markets by next fall. The Volkswagen E-Up! promises to revolutionize the “sustainable travel” in the big cities, thanks to a separate declaration of about 150 km, coupled with the ability to recharge 80% of capacity in just 30 minutes. Aesthetically it is very similar to the supermini hence, the e-Up! sporting a new bumper that incorporates blue LED daytime running lights and special 15-inch alloy wheels. The body also includes numerous chrome details and details of blue adorning the cockpit, it is appreciated for the care of gray interior trim with blue contrast stitching and fine leather upholstery which gives a staid tone and an elegant environment.

The mechanics of the cheap German car uses an electric engine capable of a continuous output of 55 hp and a peak of 82 hp, while torque is 210 Nm. The engine is also powered by a pack of lithium-ion batteries 18.7 kWh, positioned under the floor to minimize the overall dimensions and that guarantees the aforementioned autonomy of 150 km and the possibility of a rapid charging in just 30 minutes (80%). The socket for charging is hidden behind the door that hides the petrol version of the union, and upon request will be available a sophisticated device called Combined Charging System (CCS): a standard platform that supports charging systems DC and AC.
