New Volkswagen Polo | Changes the data

An impressive range of new comfort and safety functions that are unique in its class, has the renewed Polo. The Volkswagen car that from an entry level model was first launched before 40 years in 1975, and became one of the most popular cars in the world, producing more than 14 million vehicles characterized as a high quality, innovative, but affordable compact car. The new Polo has a length of 3,972 mm, making it a bit larger than the previous model, a width of 1,682 mm and a height of 1,453 mm. The design of the front portion has a more sporty appearance because of the redesigned bumper and larger air intake. The addition of a new chrome trim strips with lower air intake joins visually both fog and gives the largest Polo width. The luminaires have been redesigned and the new design of the reflectors and their placement within the bumper offer the feeling of increased width.

The Volkswagen developed entirely new headlights with LED technology for the new Polo, a first in its class. The dual LED headlights compared with the headlights Xenon, offer even more white light, less tiring of the eyes of the driver in the evening, have greater longevity, while consuming less energy. Together with new three spoke steering, new instrument panel with three dimensional appearance certify the ergonomic and aesthetic interior enhancement. The instruments are based on the design philosophy of Volkswagen and impresses with the detail and precision in workmanship.

The new Polo is the first Volkswagen available with second generation information and entertainment systems, Modular Infotainment System (MIB). All other versions have the “Composition Colour” with a 5 inch color display, 6 speakers, Bluetooth, port USB, CD-drive and dual tuner. Optional equipment is the “Composition Media”. With an extra cost of just 285 €, it also includes a color touch screen of 6.5 inches, WVGA resolution, proximity sensor, capable of displaying JPEG files and photo albums of music tracks play. Top unit of a new generation of information and entertainment systems is the “Discover Media”. It differs from the “Composition Media” that has navigation system, 2 USB ports and SD-card, and display logos of radio stations.

Changes in the new Polo were also made in the mechanical parts, such as that they raised the bar quite high in active and passive safety. Specifically, the Polo has refreshed: Electromechanical steering. The new electromechanical power steering is new to the Polo. The compact system, integrated into the steering column includes electric rack motors and stands for accurate and prompt response, excellent isolating the bumps. The Volkswagen offers electronically adjustable suspension on the Polo for the first time. The suspension “Sport Select” has two settings, normal and sport. When selecting normal, although the setting is tight, it is more comfortable than a conventional sports suspension.

The main engine of the Polo is an atmospheric unit of 1,0 lt with a yield of 75 PS. It has indirect injection (MPI) and the block is made of aluminum. It offers the best performance in its class compared with corresponding sets horsepower engine, while fuel consumption is 7.5% lower than the previous engine.
