New Skoda Octavia RS 2014 in two variants
The debut of the new Skoda Octavia RS is set for July 10 on the occasion of the Festival of Speed at Goodwood. In the meantime, however, the manufacturer of the Czech Republic has decided to reveal the characteristics and the first official images of its latest arrival. The sporty family Octavia will be offered in both sedan and station wagon variant and will be recognized for a number of aesthetic traits marked and exclusive. At the front you can see the grids with a honeycomb design, bumpers, fog lamps and headlights changed from their sisters, the red brake calipers, chrome tailpipes and the black diffuser. The LED daytime running lights and bi xenon headlights are accompanied to the alloy wheels offered in size from 17 , 18 or 19 inches while inside there are the three spoke steering wheels covered in leather as well as the lever rates and the handbrake, specific sports seats, pedals, stainless steel scuff and graphics customized instrumentation.

There are nine airbags, the XDS electronic limited slip differential, power steering assistance to progressive, the Multi Collision Braking, Driver Activity Assistant, the Assistant Crew Protect, the Adaptive Cruise Assistant and the ride height lowered by 12 mm on the sedan variant, while the load capacity is 590 liters for the saloon and 610 liters for the Combi. One of the novelties of the Skoda Octavia RS is made by the offer motoring which has next to the petrol version 2.0 TSI 220 hp, also a diesel variant represented by the 2.0 TDI with 184 horsepower. For both, there is the standard six speed manual gearbox but as an option you can choose the automatic DSG dual clutch six speed.

The Octavia petrol engine with saloon bodywork provides a top speed of 248 km / h and a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds while the diesel version reaches 232 km / h and reaches 100 km / h with snap from standstill in 8.1 seconds. It is ensured that the new Skoda Octavia RS consumes an average of 19% over the previous generation thanks to the use of the Start & Stop system and energy recovery during braking. The debut on the main European markets are set for the month of July so a few weeks after the official presentation of the model.
