New electric racing car by Nissan
Nissan has prepared an electric racing vehicle for the LeMans race of 2014. The original ZEOD RC, which can reach a top speed of 300 km/hr with the technology of Leaf. The Japanese firm has developed a new racing concept vehicle with advanced aerodynamics and new cooling systems, which beyond the “striking” design it stands out for its electrification, incorporating technology Nissan Leaf. Indeed, it has its ZEOD RC, such as code name, the system of energy recovery during braking. Specifically, this vehicle was created with the contribution of the mechanical part of Nismo, to participate in the 2014 LeMans race and cover the round of 13.7 km on electric power.
In addition, the driver of the model will have the possibility, in a Nissan, to choose between pure electric drive and the “strengthening” of a light turbo internal combustion engine without clarifying the technical details of the motor.
Finally, the head of Nismo, Shoichi Miyatani, stressed that the vehicle “is a step forward for electromobility to racing.”
