Micromax Rinspeed Concept at Geneva Motor Show

A “cube” electric more similar in form to a van than a car. It has large windows to give more brightness, six plots in three rows of seats, designed to allow the carriage of standing passengers (obviously restrained by a belt made of ad hoc) and a large number of gadgets ranging from a machine to make coffee to an infotainment system managed via smartphone. It is Micromax, a concept car designed for urban transport which the manufacturer semi-artisan Rinspeed will present in the coming weeks at the Geneva Motor Show scheduled for March 7 to 17. Rinspeed has confirmed its presence at the event in Geneva along with new details of Micromax which in December had shown an initial anticipation.

It is not the first time, in fact, that the Swiss Frank M. Rinderknecht – founder and number one of Rinspeed – is presented in Geneva with one of his extravagant creations with electric drive, all developed according to the philosophy of urban mobility. In 2010 he exposed the supermini UC, Followed in 2011 by Bamboo concept with leisure lines reminiscent of the Citroen Mehari, and in 2012 had surprised the visitors of the Geneva Motor Show with Dock + Go, a Smart Electric Drive with appendix on wheels that could contain an internal combustion engine to be used as a generator of electricity, an auxiliary battery pack drive or a fuel cell.

Not particularly “micro” in size – the Rinspeed concept measures 3.6 meters in length and 2.20 m in height – Micromax uses, however, the maximum modularity to allow the maximum capacity of people on board: six including the driver. A wide space in the central area of the passenger compartment can be used as a storage area as well as disengagement for the entry and egress of occupants (through two large sliding doors, one on each side of Micromax).
