Ford Focus ST | The debut of the 2.0 turbo diesel 185 hp

The new version of the Ford Focus ST made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, with an unusual version of the 2.0 TDCi turbo diesel 185 bhp which supports the 2.0 EcoBoost petrol 250 bhp, now equipped with Start / Stop system. It will also hit the market later this year (prices have yet to be determined) in a 5-door version and it will receive all the technological innovations, such as the infotainment system SYNC 2 with an 8-inch touch display, already seen at Geneva Motor Show.

The 2.0 TDCi engine with 185 horsepower diesel pushes the Focus ST from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.1 seconds and up to 217 km / h, and has fuel consumption of just 4.4 L/100 km and CO2 emissions of 114 g / km.

The increase in power compared to the standard 150 hp was achieved thanks to new intake and exhaust systems that have electronics dedicated management. The maximum power is developed at 3,500 rpm, while torque reaches its peak of 400 Nm between 2,000 and 2,750 rpm. The tuning of the suspension and suspension, which now rests on 19-inch wheels with specific Michelin tires, that have been edited by the Ford Team RS.

Inside, there are signed Recaro sports seats, along with the console with the three additional tools – boost pressure, temperature and oil pressure – create the atmosphere of a racing car. But the sportiness goes hand in hand with security, so on the Focus ST there will also be available the second-generation of the Active City Stop, which up to 50 km / h will automatically brake the car in the presence of obstacles.
