A Glimpse of the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV
General Motors have announced the launch of a vehicle that may or may not topple Tesla’s Model-3, the Chevy Bolt EV. This early, people are looking forward to this electric car before this year ends.
What makes it interesting is its claim of a 200 mile range and competitive price of $37,500. The Bolt EV will be the first most affordable long range electric car in the market, so to speak. This will definitely be one of the best new cars for 2017.
Designed with state-of-the-art technology, the Bolt EV is said to become a WiFi hotspot with Onstar 4G LTE and the car senses the driver and instantly connects to his or her smartphone. This is on top of the outside rear view camera and the 10.e inch display mounted on the instrument panel. A mobile app is also designed to enable remote starting and battery charge tracking.
The Bolt EV can reach up to 60 mph in less than seven seconds. And when it comes to the braking system, GM engineers came with seamless and smooth brakes. For a tall vehicle, it was easy to move from one corner to another without losing stability and control. Moreover, this car is quiet on the road.
There is an onboard charger that can operate up to 7.2 kilowatts and there is a charging cord found under the load bay which is 120 volts. Charging it for two hours allows the car to run for 50 miles and at least 9 hours is needed for the battery to be fully recharged.
With 17-inch alloy rims, the tires, turning at corners is safer and flatter. There is no spare tire because there is no need for one. The self-sealing Michelin tires makes the Bolt EV first of its kind.
Aside from its features, potential buyers can take advantage of the $2,500 rebate from the state of California as well as a Federal State Tax Credit amounting to $7,500. The car is said to be available by the end of December 2016.
