0 to 60 mph in a few seconds! The fastest cars ever!

0 to 60 mph is a common way to measure acceleration of cars in the US and UK. In other parts of the world, it is 0 to 100 km/h. Performance cars today are able to go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds while others can achieve this in under 4 seconds or less.  Based on the record, the fastest car that can be legally driven on the road is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. It can go up to 60mph in just 2.46 seconds. For years, this acceleration has been the standard in order to test the performance of any sports car.

There is also quite a number of them that reach the benchmark. Today there are a handful of these cars that you can spot on the streets. The fastest cars on the list have a common theme and that is the fact they are supercars making up 500 hp and they are fit with an automatic gear box. Part of the cars that could reach 60 mph in less than 5 seconds is the McLaren MP4-12C. This is a new vehicle with the fastest turnaround especially in the racing world. It is a predecessor to the McLaren F1. The engine of the car features twin turbo with a 3.8 L V8 engine. It can give off about 592 hp. It is said that used models of the car are said to be more expensive than other models from the car maker.

The value of Nissan is  definitely great compared to others. Its engine can boost about 530 hp. This model is equipped with the ATTESSA E-TS. This is a standard all wheel drive around system. Driving this car will make other drivers envious of you.

Another car on the list is the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce. Other supercars compared to this model might seem to be boring. The Italian car maker doesn’t rely on turbo chargers in order for this car to produce about 661 hp. Power is coming from the six speed automatic which means that the acceleration is just a push of gas away.

Be prepared to shed out about $450,000 if you want to drive like Batman and capture the heads of other drivers on the highway. The good news is that these can be driven legally on the road. There are some car models with fast acceleration that can’t be driven on the road.
